- Buy 10 lb ABC extinguishers for the garage and deck, not the 2.5 lb kitchen models.
- A shovel and a McLeod rake let you smother and scrape smouldering material.
- Fog nozzles (adjustable pattern) on a hose knock down embers far better than a jet.
